The president of the National Rally claims to “prioritize the French who started working very early”. If he is appointed to Matignon, he intends to establish, for retirements, a progressiveness which “will revolve around a pivotal age of 62 years and 42 annuities”.

“My priority will be long careers,” concedes Jordan Bardella. During the debate organized by TF1 this Tuesday, June 25, the president of the National Rally recognizes that the “record public deficit” and the “unprecedented budget deficit” will “lead him to make choices” in terms of pensions.

Thus, he affirms that if his party wins a majority in the legislative elections of June 30 and July 7, a person who started working at the age of 24 will retire “with 42 years of contributions, that is to say 66 years old.

“For a very simple reason: when you started working later, it is normal that you are led to work later,” he justifies.

“Progressiveness”

“But when you started working very early, I believe that the budgetary choice must be made,” adds Jordan Bardella. He hopes “that those who started before the age of 20 – because these are difficult jobs which do not have the chance to work in air-conditioned offices during the summer and heated during the winter – will be able to leave in the fall , with a contribution period of 40 years and a legal retirement age of 60 years.

“I think it’s a choice of social justice,” he explains.

“I prefer to prioritize the French who started working very early, beyond that, it is normal that there is a progressiveness that is put in place,” he explains, explaining that this progressiveness “will revolve around ‘a pivotal age of 62 years and 42 years’ service.
