A mini-farm was set up in the Les jardin de Sido residence, where schoolchildren were invited to join the elderly.

On this sunny Monday, the residents of the retirement home Les jardins de Sido had several visits, from 2 p.m.: a mini-farm had appeared in the garden of the retirement home.

The same goal: to caress and cuddle the animals

Karine Breton who, six years ago, created a self-business called “Animal Wellbeing” traveled the region to publicize her mini-farm: it is not the visitors who do not come to her but the animals who come to her. structures such as schools, retirement homes, works councils, leisure centers and other places.

A few years later, she joined forces with Mélanie de Coligny who manages the Média-pets45 association. Together, they travel the territory with their mini-farm, made up of goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ducks, parrots, parakeets, turtles, dogs, pangolin and chameleon.

While the residents began the visit and became familiar with the various species of animals, around fifteen kindergarten students from the town came to join the residents, an intergenerational meeting that the children and residents greatly appreciated.

Children and elderly people alike gathered for the same purpose: to pet or cuddle small animals and tell each other stories.

During the exchange between the participants, a guinea pig took the opportunity to escape into the garden of the residence, forcing those responsible to form a brigade in order to recover the runaway who, we hope, will be quickly found.
