Adrien Quatennens attacked François Ruffin on social networks after comments made against Jean-Luc Mélenchon, broadcast this Tuesday, June 25.

Adrien Quatennens, member of France Insoumise, attacked outgoing MP François Ruffin (New Popular Front) on X after the latter targeted Jean-Luc Mélenchon, this Tuesday, June 25.

“Join the RN direct!”, he asserted in response to a TF1 report in which the candidate for the legislative elections in the Somme placed Jean-Luc Mélenchon as “an obstacle to the victory” of the New Popular Front.

“Shooting him is your life insurance”

“If Mélenchon and the FI had not invested in you, you would not exist. And today, shooting against him is your life insurance. As beautiful as it is, Picardy is not the country. Join him RN direct! We will save time and energy,” wrote Adrien Quatennens.

Campaigning in Abbeville in the Somme for the New Popular Front, François Ruffin explained on TF1 that he did not consider Jean-Luc Mélenchon as “support here, it is rather something that repels voters”. “He’s him, I’m me,” he replied to a motorist who asked him if he wasn’t “for Mr. Mélenchon.”

“National discussions will take place later”

“No doubt it is necessary to go on TV sets but it would be good if the leaders of rebellious France were here to discuss with people, to convince and fight the National Rally as Jean-Luc Mélenchon did in 2012”, he continued, pressing for the withdrawal of the former president of the LFI group from the National Assembly. “Every two days he goes on TV to say he’s withdrawing so it’s not so much a withdrawal.”

Reapproving of disagreeing with the political strategy which “was thought out and implemented” by France Insoumise, the candidate nevertheless estimated that “national discussions will take place later”.

On June 16, Adrien Quatennnens, during a press conference, announced the withdrawal of his candidacy for the legislative elections in the 1st constituency of the North. “I am not waiting any longer for my candidacy to be used against La France insoumise and the New Popular Front, at a time when all energy must be mobilized to beat the extreme right,” declared the outgoing deputy, condemned in 2022 for acts of violence against his former partner.
