The development planned for the Kerluherne and Sainte-Anne section in Vannes (Morbihan) aims to make cycling safer, more comfortable and attractive. This axis, which accounts for 21,000 vehicles/day, in both directions of traffic, represents a strong potential for a modal shift towards cycling, particularly for journeys to work.
Indeed, it connects Plescop, a town experiencing rapid demographic growth, to the city center and serves several business areas (Atlanparc, Laroiseau, Ker Lann, Parc Lann) representing an employment area of nearly 6,000 employees.
The four lanes cut this Tuesday
The Vannes-Plescop link is one of these main routes. In this context, a 1.9 km cycle route will be developed by the city between the Sainte-Anne roundabout and the Kerluherne roundabout. This project includes several phases of work including the construction of two footbridges.
This Tuesday, June 25, 2024, the installation will begin, from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m., of the first footbridge crossing the RN165, the second having to pass later above the SNCF track. A project that promises to be spectacular. In fact, the RN will be closed on this section and a diversion has been put in place. Traffic will also be cut on the Sainte-Anne road, between the Sainte-Anne roundabout and that of Boizy, for the same period of time. There too, a diversion will be put in place.
