It was an unusual theft to say the least which occurred this weekend in Les Ardennes. Indeed, as our colleagues from L'Union reported yesterday afternoon, a picnic table was stolen from the Mondigny rest area during the night from Friday to Saturday.

The inhabitants of Barbe-En-Croc, a locality of the village, are certain of one thing: the furniture was still present on Friday evening, at the rest area located on Route de Gruyères. “I am very angry,” declared the village mayor, “it is unacceptable to see such things. »

Mondigny town hall will file a complaint

And for good reason, this small town in the Ardennes had invested around 2,000 euros for this development appreciated by all. A significant sum, paid out a little over two years ago. Still according to our colleagues, this Saturday morning, after observing the facts, the town hall alerted the department's gendarmes and should file a complaint in the coming hours.

The mayor, Daniel Thomas, also launched a call for witnesses to find the thieves, who must have had a vehicle suitable for transporting such an object. “If anyone has noticed something abnormal, please report it to the Poix-Terron gendarmerie or to the Mondigny town hall,” concludes the mayor, indignant.
