Farmers demonstrated on Monday at the call of the FNSEA. They have increased symbolic actions without blocking roads throughout the country.
The fires of anger, on the evening of Monday November 18 on the quays in Bordeaux (Gironde), or in an industrial zone near Nîmes (Gard). The exasperation of farmers was expressed throughout the day in the country. They are protesting in particular against the European Union's free trade agreement with Mercosur, currently being discussed by the G20 countries meeting in Brazil.
There were around a hundred of them in the streets of Montpellier (Hérault), with village signs hung on the prefecture gates as a symbol to make themselves heard: “All the signs were donated by mayors who support us. We are here to express our discontent and ask for a future.”
Among the demonstrators, many wine growers who are experiencing the crisis this year, with poor harvests and sharply falling prices. After receiving the union representatives, the prefect of Hérault assured that the message had been received.
In Amiens (Somme), the mobilization took place calmly. The Rural Coordination has arranged to meet in front of the public agency responsible for paying aid to denounce the payment delays and the excess of standards.
