A 24-year-old soldier was seriously injured by gunfire, shortly before 2 p.m. this Friday, June 25, in the grounds of the Hôtel des Troupes de Montagne, and more precisely in the courtyard which separates the guard post and the main building, at 5 place de Verdun in the center of Grenoble.

According to our information, the shot was fired accidentally while the victim was handling his weapon, in this case a safety pistol.

Hit in the thigh, the young soldier was rescued by firefighters and medically treated by a team from Samu 38 before being taken to Grenoble-Alpes University Hospital where he was admitted to the discharge department. His days are not in danger.

The Grenoble police officers made the first findings but the investigation into the circumstances of this accident was entrusted to the gendarmes – in this case, those of the Grenoble company -, as is customary when events occur on military sites.
