A 42-year-old restaurateur was sentenced to four years in prison for drug trafficking in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes). The criminal court delivered its judgment on Monday June 17, 2024, reports Nice morning . In addition to coffee and several dishes, the man served cannabis to his customers.

After a report in October 2022, the police arrested several customers in February 2023 and discovered 150 g of cannabis resin and €10,000 in the restaurant. In a box located nearby, they found 42.5 kg of resin and 1.5 kg of cannabis herb. Today, while the restaurant has been closed, the owner of the place is trying to bring it up to standard.

Four years firm

During the hearing, the forty-year-old admitted his guilt and insisted on exonerating the three other defendants involved. One of them was still sentenced to eight months in prison with an electronic bracelet. The other two were acquitted for alleged money laundering.

The prosecutor requested five years in prison against the forty-year-old. The latter ultimately received a four-year sentence. The man was not unknown to the police. He had undertaken the same trafficking in another establishment in Nice a few years previously.
