The Extraordinary Garden
Cliffs, unique species, a very particular orientation and sunshine on the banks of the Loire offer a unique site, which already make the Miséry de Chantenay quarry an extraordinary place. This extraordinary site was chosen in 2016 to create the “Extraordinary Garden”, a 3.5 ha public garden open to the Loire. Inaugurated on September 28, 2019, the western part of the Extraordinary Garden already offers multiple path possibilities, a 25m high waterfall and the possibility of crossing the pool using 2 footbridges. Since October 2020, a giant staircase connects Square Marcel-Schwob de la Butte Sainte-Anne to the Extraordinary Garden below. It impresses walkers with its 177 steps clinging to the cliff.
