At Valence Romans, the players did the work on the pitch, the managers did it behind the scenes. By 2028/2029, the team will have a brand new stadium more suited to its ambitions.

In 2024/2025, Valence Romans will play in Pro D2 for the second consecutive season. A great achievement for a club which had not been able to hold on during its last climb. But leaders think bigger. In 2028 or 2029, they should leave their Georges Pompidou stadium for a brand new venue; the “Koesio Stadium” of 44 million euros financed to the tune of 32 million by the Koesio group.

“We plan to build this stadium in the next four-five years. It is supported by a patron and the town, we will be tenants. It will have 7,000 places, if one day we move up to the Top 14 it will increase to 11,00012,000 places” explains Laurent Beaugiraud, one of the presidents.

This multi-use stadium will host cultural and sporting events. It will therefore be modular, being able to accommodate up to 11,00012,000 seats with the installation of a fourth stand.

An essential tool for the development of the club: “It was an economic need to aim for the top of the Pro D2 table. We are in a territory where economic partners are important, we have to be ambitious. We had a full stadium for the derby against Grenoble, Aurillac, Brive. The population base is very large here. » In the meantime, the team will continue to play in its favorite stadium of Georges-Pompidou. Inaugurated in 1973, it has hosted Valence Romans since the 2019/2020 season and a first rise to Pro D2. It will be renovated while waiting for the team to move to its new location.
