“You will become a liability for your camp. Leave, Mr. Mayor.”

This Monday evening, the atmosphere was not good at the Grenoble municipal council.

It was the first time that elected officials met since the revelations in Le Canard Enchaîné on the Piolle/Martin affair. And Emilie Chalas had organized a demonstration in front of the Town Hall at the opening of the council.

The former Macronist MP was the first to charge the Eric Piolle-Elisa Martin duo, especially since she is campaigning for the legislative elections in the same constituency as the rebellious outgoing MP.

“Grenoble, it looks like the Baron noir series, but worse!”complained Emilie Chalas, in connection with the alleged deal between the environmentalist mayor and the woman who was at the time his first deputy, namely 400 euros per month embezzled from the salary of a collaborator.

“You will become a liability for your camp. Leave, Mr. Mayor.”then chanted Dominique Spini, from Alain Carignon’s group.

If the City of Grenoble is going to become a civil party in this case, Eric Piolle refused to allow an opponent to represent it, and chose his deputy Vincent Fristot. Enough to enrage a little more on the right.

Finally, Elisa Martin did not wish to speak, while the Grenoble city councilor said “keep a cool head” and threatened his opposition, reminding them that one day they will have to “assume the expressions held” to the municipal council regarding this matter.

For its part, the investigation opened by the Grenoble public prosecutor’s office is still ongoing.
