The Poulin Électriques company will carry out trail lighting work in Champvert and Marquette parks for a cost of nearly $493,000.

Among the actions included in the approach to improving safety in urban areas, improving visibility by lighting paths and cycle paths has been identified as one of the priority actions, indicates the City. And the electrical and lighting work in Champvert Park is listed there. A minor improvement is also planned for the recreational areas of Marquette Park following a report of a security problem by the Longueuil Agglomeration Police Department.

This project will allow the safer movement of pedestrians using the trails of these two parks.

In addition, infrastructure and equipment repair work on the public lighting systems of the City of Longueuil will be carried out by Michel Guimont Entrepreneur Électricien ltée for an amount approaching $660,000.

The street and park lighting networks in the City of Longueuil have 23,000 street lamps. Follow-ups are carried out on more than 5,000 requests annually, indicates the City. Among these requests, more than a hundred are repairs related to the systems infrastructure and are caused by accidents, breakdowns or their deterioration. These are carried out by specialized companies working in electrical work and civil engineering work.

The agreement with Michel Guimont Entrepreneur is valid until December 31, 2025.
