The club chaired by Stéphane Aimé hosted for the 7th time the general assembly of the Swimming Gard committee. Three of the five winter clubs were represented (Alès, Nîmes and Villeneuve) as well as three of the four summer clubs (Bagnols, Salindres and Le Vigan).
Chaired by Éric Hildebert, assisted by Dominique Train and Anne Sarrus, this meeting saw the heads of commissions review the annual activity reports. It also made it possible to make an overall assessment of Gard swimming where, although many sporting results were satisfactory, serious problems were revealed (shelving of the Saint-Gilles club, closures of pools in Nîmes, number of officials decreasing, etc.). 2024 saw a drop in licensees, mainly due to the withdrawal of the Saint-Gilles pools. Summer swimming clubs are of course impacted but this result still allows the committee to be the second in France in number of summer swimming licensees.
Gard was represented at the elite French championships by eleven swimmers from Ales and seven swimmers from Nîmes. A team from Bagnolais and a Salindroise team took part in the national interclub summer swimming final and two Salindrois (Clara and Hugo Castillon) won the national summer swimming criterium. Finally, the financial budget presented showed balanced finances.
