It is yet another multi-starred and committed chef who will chair the 19th edition of the Gourmet Book Festival in Périgueux (Dordogne), from November 15 to 17. After Guillaume Gomez (2021), Régis Marcon (2022) and Olivier Roellinger (2023), tribune of ethical and joyful cuisine, it is time for the media Thierry Marx, revealed to the general public in 2010 as a juror of “MasterChef”.

Eat well

Michelin-starred chef at Sur Mesure, the restaurant at the new Parisian palace Le Mandarin oriental, Thierry Marx is also the president of the Hotel and Catering Employers’ Union since 2022. “He has been on our shelves for four years. We chose him for his commitment to eating well which echoes our public policies,” applauds Delphine Labail, mayor of Périgueux.

The new edition, which once again announces around a hundred authors including 12 for young people, is being built with the tireless Thierry Marx, who was also a starred chef in the Médoc (Relais Châteaux Cordeillan-Bages). The president has already chosen his committed guests including the writer Erik Orsenna, the agronomist Pierre Weill, the sociologist and food specialist Claude Fischler and the chemist Raphaël Haumont, known for his work in molecular cuisine.

It was with him that Thierry Marx created the French Center for Culinary Innovation at the University of Orsay in 2013. “The question of solidarity and access to eating well is also at the heart of Thierry Marx’s concerns », Adds Rodolphe Delcros, deputy mayor in charge of culture. Thierry Marx opened in February 2023 the first gastronomic establishment based on the principle of the solidarity economy, Onor, awarded a star in the Michelin Guide in March 2024.

Among the many guest authors, we can already cite a few social media stars such as the Bordeaux influencer Niangcook or Hervé Cuisine, 2 million visitors to his cooking blogs every day. But also figures from “Top Chef”, pastry, healthy cooking and whistleblowers.
