Lanester launches citizen financing to install photovoltaic panels on the roof of the town hall

The Town of Lanester has entered into an agreement with SAS OnCIMè, a solidarity company from the Bretagne Énergies Citoyens association, to install photovoltaic panels on the roof of the town hall. “Convinced that raising awareness also involves collective action with a positive impact, the City wishes to call on residents to invest in the future thanks to citizen funding” announces Rose Morellec, first deputy mayor in charge of transitions.

Cover 25% of the city hall’s energy needs

This project invites residents to become actors in the face of climate change by participating in the financing of clean, local energy production. By becoming a member (the share price is €79), the individual takes part in the governance of the civic society according to the cooperative principle “One person = one vote”. €40,000 is needed for the installation of 63 photovoltaic panels, with a total area of 120 m2. This will cover 25% of the needs of the town hall,” underlines Jean-Luc Danet, from OnCIMé. At the end of four years, the member can decide to leave the company, he then receives his increased investment. The project should see the light of day at the end of 2024.
