It’s a moving story nonetheless. In Tarbes, Thursday June 20, 2024, a 41-year-old woman was convicted of robbing a florist with an imitation weapon. As reported by La Nouvelle République des Pyrénées, it was on June 15 that she took action. Hidden behind a surgical mask, she waited until the store emptied before closing to threaten the last employee who was inside the store.
Under the influence of adrenaline, the woman in question asked for the contents of the cash drawer to be returned to her. She then immediately opened her bag to take out a completely fake weapon. But then, why did this 41-year-old woman rob the flower shop? According to media information, the latter
had debts and feared his dealer would harm his dog if she didn’t pay it back as soon as possible. “He threatened to kill my dog. I had to give him the money on Saturday. That’s why I did this.” she justified to the competent services.
She moves her victim
During his hearing, his more than damaged life was highlighted. According to La Nouvelle République, the 41-year-old woman grew up as a foster child, a runaway and then became a junkie. When she had her child, he was also placed in care. A life journey which did not fail to move its victim. “I have heard your story and understand that it all must not have been easy. But know that you are not the only one, I too have experienced difficult times. I would like you to understand that you hurt me. Even through a screen I am afraid of you and I tremble. I hope you can get help and care.“, said the saleswoman to her attacker. The 41-year-old woman appeared by video from the Pau remand center.
What sanction?
Note that for its part, the court was not moved by the story of the forty-year-old. She received
two years in prison, one of which was suspended.
