1.5 km of roads have been renovated between Chemin du Pont Trouille and the port ring road bridge. The inauguration took place last Friday, a year after the inauguration of the first phase.

This Gravelines road project is a promise that the mayor of Calais made to local residents at the height of the migration crisis.

The roadway and public lighting have been renovated, sidewalks created and resurfaced, rainwater management improved, parking reorganized, underground overhead networks, reinforced video protection and soft mobility taken into account with the creation of a chaucidou type road.

The local residents are delighted, like Régine, Béatrice, Jacky and Joël.

Fabien lives on Route de Gravelines and Hervé lives on a perpendicular street. Both are satisfied with this project and in particular the cycle paths.

Comments collected at the RADIO 6 microphone of Priscilla Vandeville. The cost of the work amounts to €3,959,613 including tax, financed by the State, the Department and the city. More than 6 million for the total project (counting the three phases).

Work on the third and final phase begins this week, between the port ring road bridge and the city limits. During the work, traffic on the Gravelines road will operate in alternating shifts. Delivery is scheduled for the end of the year.
