Sète-Lisbon: presentation of the box of prints by those responsible for the SLA association

The next SLA Festival, which brings together artists from Sète and artists from another city, will take place this fall with Lisbon.
This is the first edition where the SLA association has chosen to hire a Sétois as curator of the event, the former director of the School of Fine Arts Philippe Saulle. It was he who notably selected the artists participating this year and who, with the association, found the main exhibition venues in Sète and in Lisbon.

Le collectif Mr. & Mr.

To do this, he was helped by a scenographer who is also making his debut in this event, the duo Mr. & Mr., who are about to leave Montpellier for Sète in the coming months.

Also for the first time, the SLA Festival has formed a partnership with another essential festival on the Singular Island, K-Life, focused on art and urban cultures.

  • Return to a festival based on exchanges between Sète and another city
In 2019, artists from Sète are launching a festival based on exchanges between artists belonging to Sète on the one hand, and a city that changes every two years.
The festival is supported by the SLA association, for Sète-Los Angeles, the two cities which started this festival in 2019. Fourteen artists from Sète and 14 Angelinos meet in Sète and two months later, in Los Angeles.
The second edition in 2022 took up this principle with exchanges between artists from Sète and Palermo in Sicily.
  • As with previous editions, Sète artists produced engravings (on wood, on linoleum, screen prints, etc.), or photos to create a box of prints. All the works included in this box are signed and numbered, and the box itself is produced in 100 copies sold for the benefit of the SLA association.
The box set: €3,500 via tax exemption or engraving sold for €200 individually.
  • September 9-14 in Sète and October 15-19 in Lisbon
  • The participating artists, near Sète-Montpellier: Mathieu Kleyebe Abonnenc, André Cervera, Elisa Fantozzi, Agnès Fornells, Damien Fragnon, Vir Andres Hera, Ile/mer/froid; Sam Krack; Raphael Kuntz Zoi Lakhnati; Les Crafties; Naomi Maury Marion Mounic and Elena Salah.

All the artists from both cities can be found on the site, as well as details on previous editions.
