A firm statement. A little over a week after the rape of a 12-year-old girl in Courbevoie in Hauts-de-Seine, Emmanuel Macron reacted in a message posted on his X account this Sunday, June 23, 2024.

“Hit because Jewish”

“I think of this child attacked, beaten because she was Jewish, raped by other children,” declared the Head of State on the sidelines of a “march against anti-Semitism” organized this Sunday in Courbevoie, two days after a first gathering organized by the town hall.

“Let’s educate, let’s not give in, let’s punish. Anti-Semitism, racism and all hatred damages each of us,” added Emmanuel Macron.

On June 15, a 12-year-old girl was beaten and raped in Courbevoie by three teenagers because of his Jewish religion for “allegedly having spoken badly about Palestine”, according to his lawyer Me Oudy Bloch.

Since then, numerous marches against anti-Semitism have been organized throughout France, such as in Paris and Courbevoie.
