Bheki is therefore strengthening, the tropical storm has passed the tropical cyclone stage this Saturday, November 16 in the morning. Maximum winds estimated at sea are 130 km/h, maximum gusts of 185 km/h.

The system is expected to continue to intensify to reach its peak tomorrow, Sunday, November 17, during the day. It would then gradually weaken at the start of the week.

Bheki should not reach the stage of intense tropical cyclone, according to Météo France, which predicts a passage as close as Rodrigues to the stage of strong tropical storm.

The path of Tropical Cyclone Bheki towards the South-West is expected to continue until Monday, before beginning a turn towards the West at the end of the day.

According to Météo France forecasts, its trajectory would take it north of Rodrigues on the evening of Tuesday, November 19. A passage which should not have “significant impacts on the island”, the system being quite compact, specifies Météo France.

A worsening of the weather is still expected, as well as a swell of 4 to 6 meters from Tuesday.
