She was in every discussion of the day. The rain, heavy on Friday morning on this second day of summer, worried many concert organizers for the Fête de la Musique.

Some have also decided to take the lead quickly. The Domaine de Chambord, on Thursday, then the City of Romorantin, Friday morning, announced the cancellation of their concerts, all planned outdoors.

A final downpour around 5:30 p.m. cast doubt on Vendôme. Will the many concerts planned in the streets take place? Well yes, the sun returned to its place in the sky around 6 p.m. For everyone’s pleasure.

With him, the Vendômois returned to the terraces for a drink in the sun while waiting for the musical notes. The first ones were heard at Place de la République, near the Central Bar, with Loïc, a guitarist.

Not far from him, in rue du Change, the duo Marie and Balthazar also began their concert of French songs. This year again, they were welcomed by Olivier Jouanneau, manager of Ô Bar à Vin.

Later, they were joined by Mariss, present at Espace 102 in Faubourg Chartrain, where the Pierre et fils brass band at Loup-Perché was also to appear. A stroll by the Tambores Social Club, an Afro-Brazilian percussion association, was also expected in the streets of Vendômes.

“The uncertainty has been trying”

In Blois, after the rain, certain concerts, including those at the conservatory at the Château de Blois, were canceled or postponed as a preventive measure. “The uncertainty was trying for the technical teams”explains Hervé Bourit, event project manager at the City, who explains that the decision to maintain the other concerts was taken by Mayor Marc Gricourt.
The sun finally appeared late in the afternoon. On Place Gaudet, passers-by took their places in front of the stage of the contemporary music venue Le Chato’do or on the terrace, before the Blésois alternative rock group Freaky Beast launched the festivities.

A stone’s throw away, Place Louis-XII, some have made the strategic choice to set up not far from the bar screens to enjoy both the concerts and the French football team match. Several music and dance groups then took place in the streets in the pure spirit of the Fête de la Musique. To the great pleasure of Matthieu and Wendy, who came “for the atmosphere” : “It would have been a shame to cancel, it’s festive and still fun. »
