It was a tragedy which caused a immense emotion, not only in Pluvigner but also throughout the world of Morbihan football.
At 9:18 a.m., Sunday June 4, 2023, five young girls from the Keriolets de Pluvigner club, who were going to a football tournament, were in a car violently hit at a place called Ty Planche by a vehicle coming from Colpo with two people on board and who had not respected the stop sign.
A shock so violent that the girls' car had been thrown against a house which has since become uninhabitable.
Multiple fractures to the pelvis and ribs, severed spleen and liver, pneumothorax, hip fracture, double fracture of the femur and sternum…
A long rehabilitation journey
On site 59 firefighters then try to help the seven victims, five of whom are in a state of absolute emergency. Three were transported by helicopter to the Rennes and Nantes university hospitals, the others to the Vannes hospital.
Three and a half months after the accident, the five young women (aged 19 and 22 at the time), all released from hospitalization, gradually found a smile again. Multiples fractures to the pelvis and ribs, severed spleen and liver, pneumothorax, hip fracture, double fracture of the femur and sternum… The list of their injuries is as long as that of the hours spent in rehabilitation. But they finally return to an almost normal life.
Driving license canceled
After a hearing at the Lorient judicial court last October, the decision fell this Wednesday, November 14. The driver who ran the stop sign was found responsible for the accident and sentenced to one year in prison. His license was also canceled with a ban on retaking it for eight months, as reported by our colleagues from Ouest-France.
