The winners of the poetry competition revealed their talents but also their prose to Marignane

Poetry is always a moment to put your emotions down on paper. And in Marignane, we are sensitive and we demonstrated it through a big ceremony. A ceremony, which celebrates creativity and literary expression, and which brought together many poetry lovers, young and old.

A group challenge and personal expression

The rules of this competition, a tribute to creativity, required participants to compose a new work of 16 verses on inspiring themes: “Grace” for adults and “the sea” for children, adolescents and school classes. The challenge was met brilliantly by the many participants, each bringing their personal touch and unique style.

The jury, chaired by Viviane Blanchard, made up of cultural and artistic personalities from the city, had the delicate task of deciding between the poems. Their mission was not easy, as the level of the works presented was high. “This year we read some wonderful poems. The competition was of a very good standard.“, remarked the president. However, after long deliberations, several poems were distinguished for their originality, beauty and depth.

Lisa Diniro won 1st prize in the children’s category. His poem captivated the jury with its innocence and sensitivity to the theme of the sea. In the same category, Mohamed Bourouis received a special jury prize.

Carla Ciron won 1st prize in the adolescent category. His unique and mature vision of the sea impressed with its depth and accuracy.

Culture as rewards

Claudine Bonneville-Pace won 1st prize in the adult category with a poem on grace which touched people with its elegance and poetic mastery.

The winners were rewarded with prizes consisting of books and cinema tickets, which would further nourish their love for culture and literature. This media library celebration and poetry competition recalled the importance of culture and literary creation in the life of the community. See you next year for a new edition, full of surprises and talents to discover!
