Rétrocycles: the sign affixed to the tuffeau façade of 55 rue Dupetit-Thouars in Saint-Martin-de-la-Place sets the tone. This is where Frédéric Mauduit set up his workshop in the middle of summer 2023. A carefully considered choice after a career that began almost a quarter of a century ago, already in the world of cycling. I had created several stores in Nantes under the Urban Cycle brand: these stores were dedicated to commuting bikes.
explains the business leader, who sold his company five years ago now. After a few years on hold, without having left the little queen, Frédéric Mauduit decided to go green, without employees and all alone, in order to avoid any form of stress.
