At only 28 years old, Benoit Guignat, resident of Savins (Seine-et-Marne) and truck driver, is never short of ideas. The latest: create a “Provins Box”thanks to which he wishes to discover different rose productsa true symbol of the medieval city. Between the plansthe graphicsthe products, the marketingthe communication and the salethis young entrepreneur does not hesitate to do everything possible to introduce his product and those made in Provinois.

“I lived in the Jura for a few months and as I wanted to introduce different culinary products to those around me, I couldn't find pretty packaging that could serve as a gift. When I returned to the region, the same problem presented itself to me and the idea was born that way,” explains the young business manager.

“Each side of this box is unique”

He therefore takes as a model theone of the emblematic monuments de Provins, the Tour César, and goes to see one of his friends, Yannick Delavau, known as “Pagus”, with his project under his arm, so that he can make it for him the box graphics.

“I found this project proposal truly original. It stands out from the traditional baskets or gift boxes and I immediately bought into it. I used as many Provinois codes as possible, such as the rosa gallica officinalis (Latin name of the Provins rose, editor’s note) or the eagle. Each side of this box is truly unique and represents the Caesar Tower in an identical way,” explains the artist.

The selection of type of cardboard adequate was also important for this object to last over time: “When we received the different quotes concerning the costs of manufacturing such a product, our discouragement was at its maximum. Finally, a company from Yonne offered us an affordable quality/price ratio and the entrepreneurial adventure could begin,” says Benoit.

After five different prototypes, cutting modifications and resistance tests, the “Provins Box” being filled with different products to taste, more or less heavy, Benoit Guignat validates his project.

“Then I went to different traders from the city to complete my product. So I stocked up at La Ronde des bleues for some Honey and candythe medieval biscuit factory for a non-alcoholic drinkProvins beer and Village who offers a magnet », Lists Benoit Guignat.

This box is not only packaging, it is also a decorative objectif desired, and a game for children, because it contains two charactersand chevalier and one princessso that they can tell each other medieval stories once the box is emptied:

“It’s a real handling process, because I receive the packaging flat, I have to get supplies from the different suppliers, then assemble the boxes, fill them and finally dispatch them to the different points of sale in Provins,” confides -he.

“I have other ideas for using this box with savory products”

At the moment the complete product is on sale at the tourist officein the Châtel garden, which has the biggest sales, at the round of bees and to the medieval biscuit factory : ” Of the January 2025I will be present in the lower town at Monoprix. The latter will also have a Provins Box with their Monoprix Gourmet range,” adds Benoit Guignat.

This unique product is aimed at residents of the city and surrounding areas to make gifts for those around them, but also and above all to tourists who wish to discover Provins rose products.

“For the moment, it's a sweet rose proposal, but I have other ideas to be able to decline this box with in particular a salty offer which would allow us to discover other products that even local residents do not know about,” underlines the business manager.

With the aim of modulating the “Provins Box” twice a year, by changing its composition, he is already thinking about another offer that would be more affordable: “The price of €39.90 is sometimes a hindrance, so I would like to offer another format with products in smaller quantities. I'm already working on the new plans, graphics and prototypes, it never stops! », he concludes, smiling.
