the essential
It will be located at the end of rue Lamothe, alongside the event hall, in place of a house built in the 80s. The project was built to integrate as well as possible onto the site and preserve the environment as much as possible.

If some people talk about a crisis in the real estate market, in Albi, this does not prevent construction projects from springing up almost everywhere. Thus, in Pratgraussals, a collective of 43 housing units will soon be built next to the event hall.

This two-story building, in an L shape inclined in line with the room, will be located in place of the last house on rue Lamothe. This one, built in the 1980s, will be destroyed, as well as the adjoining garage. Or 154 m2 in total. The house with the beautiful facade, next door, will be preserved as will the gate dating from the 19th century. The building permit has been revised to preserve them.

Led by Horizon Sainte-Cécile Albi, the project plans to construct a 2,804 m2 building, which will include 23 T3s, 2 T4s, 6 T1s and 12 T2s. All are intended to be sold. The residence will have 56 parking spaces, including three for people with disabilities. There will be 49 spaces underground and seven above ground. It will also be equipped with closed bicycle parking.

This project responds to several public policies. It corresponds to a requirement for urban densification by being built on existing buildings and not consuming new land. The project is part of the continuity of the building on rue Lamothe. It responds to a need for urban renewal. Especially since with the future footbridge, which is finally becoming a reality, these accommodations will be ideally placed. A few minutes walk from Place Sainte-Cécile.

The project takes into account the landscape and town planning and has an ecological component. If the architecture will be contemporary in expression, the materials used and the facade will fit into the Albigensian setting.

The environment plays a big role in the project. The roof of the terrace will be green. Parking spaces grassed so that water can drain away. A significant effort was made to preserve as many trees as possible. Around the building, there will be a green space of 1,407 m2. The objective “is to create an island of greenery and freshness and to preserve biodiversity”. Especially since the residence will be located at the entrance to the city’s largest park.
