In which towns in Puy-de-Dôme do the most (and least) rich people live?
The Observatory of Inequalities has published its 2024 report based on data from INSEE (National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies). It takes stock of the wealthiest inhabitants and their profile in the country.
Royat, Chamalières and Ceyrat ahead
Royat, Chamalières, towns very close to Clermont-Ferrand, then Ceyrat are part of the top 3.
Clermont-Ferrand is ranked 28th, Issoire 38th.
It is important to specify that the data analyzed by the Observatory of Inequalities does not classify all the municipalities in the department. Below 2,000 inhabitants, the figures are not precise enough.
Saint-Éloy-les-Mines, Brassac-les-Mines and Auzat-la-Combelle behind
To draw up its table, the Observatory of Inequalities relied on the median standard of living of the inhabitants of each municipality, the standard of living which divides the population in two: those who earn less, those who earn more: this is the income available for the equivalent of a single person.
Saint-Éloy-les-Mines, Brassac-les-Mines and Auzat-la-Combelle are dead last in this ranking.
