Friday November 8, 2024, two hunters were tried before the correctional appeals chamber of Caen (Calvados), after being found guilty at first instance for slaughtering and transporting a deer on someone else's private land and outside the period hunting.

On September 17, 2022, a witness filmed the alleged slaughter of a deer and contacted the OFB (French Office for Biodiversity). He was allegedly killed illegally during a wild boar hunt in Mauves-sur-Huisne (Orne), when the hunting season was not yet open.
