Do you have time and energy to devote to a good cause? For its national fall collection, the Food Bank is calling on you. The association is looking for hundreds of volunteers in the Gironde and vehicles for November 22-23-24.
Every year, dressed in their orange vests, the volunteers of the Food bank come to meet you, mobilized for a weekend in more than 7,000 collection points throughout France: stores, schools, town halls, businesses. The previous edition made it possible to recover more than 10,000 tonnes of food (the equivalent of 20 million meals) and hygiene products essential to the most vulnerable. To guarantee the success of this new national collection, more than 120,000 volunteers are expected throughout France in support of the 7,000 permanent volunteers already mobilized on the ground. This year, the challenge remains to meet the needs of a growing number of people experiencing food insecurity.
The Food Bank needs you!
For a few hours or during the three days of the collection, get involved! The mission includes the following actions: welcoming customers in stores, informing them about the products they are looking for and the mission of the Food Bank, thanking them and collecting their donations, always with a smile! You can also participate in the boxing of products by joining a team or forming a team with friends and family. but also make a car or van available for transporting goods from the different collection points to the association's headquarters. This three-day mission can, depending on your availability, extend into December by sorting the products collected in the Food Bank's warehouses.
