The Grandson tourism sector is at a crossroads. The medieval commune signed the agreement of the Association for the Development of Northern Vaudois a little less than a month ago. The information was revealed by the daily La Région. This text proposes a social and financial restructuring plan as well as a new promotion strategy for the municipalities of Northern Vaud, particularly in the other Swiss cantons. With the new model, ADNV would concentrate its efforts on promotion outside the canton of Vaud while endogenous promotion would be taken care of by the municipalities.
A carefully considered decision
The authorities of Grandson initially thought long and hard before ratifying the convention; they finally got around to it, like the majority of municipalities, less than a month ago now. “Alone, we cannot go prospecting in neighboring cantons or in the European crown around Switzerland. If we want to develop the image of Northern Vaud outside, we must join forces,” argues Grandson’s trustee Antonio Vialatte with conviction.
A second information point in sight
Antonio Vialatte also explains that the Château de Grandson will reopen in 2026. From then on, the Municipality would like to open a tourist information point there. But this should not condemn the Maison des Terroirs information point. “We will certainly leave the two points. These are points that we call ambassadors and it is the municipality which has taken the lead on this issue,” explains Antonio Vialatte. /dpi
