The 4th edition of the Vignon-en-Quercy Book Festival which will be held on November 24, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Quatre-Routes village hall promises to delight literature lovers. With 50 authors present, this literary event, which has become unmissable in the region, highlights the diversity of literary genres and the cultural riches of our territory.
The day will begin at 10 a.m. with the opening of the show, offering visitors the opportunity to meet local and national authors and discover their works. The writers present tackle various genres: from novels to comics, including heritage, history, and poetry.
At 10:30 a.m., a first round table will explore “Lotois built heritage at the time of valorization”. This discussion, moderated by Lise Jolly, former journalist at France Inter, and Jean-Marie Lacaux, columnist at Radio Vicomté, will bring together renowned personalities: Georges Depeyrot, historian and honorary research director at the CNRS, Caroline Mey-Fau, vice-president president of the Department of Lot, and Pierre Garrigou-Grandchamp, doctor in History of Art and Archaeology.
For families and young visitors, Sandrine Mage’s show “Dans la Douce de la Nuit” will be performed three times during the day: at 11 a.m., 3:30 p.m., and 5 p.m. These poetic and interactive tales, inspired by the sweetness of autumn evenings, will transport young and old into an enchanting universe, conducive to the imagination.
The morning will continue with the official inauguration of the show at 11:30 a.m. where many personalities are expected, before enjoying on-site catering thanks to the “La Roulotte” food truck.
The afternoon will begin at 2:30 p.m. with a round table entitled “From novel to comic strip”, notably bringing together Franck Bouysse, guest of honor for this edition, Pascal Croci, famous for his adaptation of Religious inspired by Diderot, and Vincent Henry, who signed Les Mots deux, the first comic book adaptation of a work by Virginie Grimaldi.
At 3 p.m., a presentation of the collective work Remains of the Middle Ages in the Lot hosted by Elsa Labbé-Lavigne, coordinator of the heritage unit of the Lot Department, will allow you to discover the architectural treasures of our region, in the presence of the authors.
The day will continue with a reflection on contemporary Russia during the round table “The Russian woman from the Soviet empire to Putinian Russia” at 4 p.m., then with a historical conference on the Viscounty of Turenne at 4:30 p.m. proposed by Michel Jarrige , member of the association “Les Amis de Cavagnac”.
In parallel with these round tables and conferences, the show will also offer an all-day manga workshop, led by Sandra Boyer and Lucy Foucaud, with the Manga Café de Saint-Céré as official partner. A great opportunity for manga lovers and those who wish to discover this art to learn more about creation techniques and the abundant world of Japanese comics.
