On November 15, 2024, the Stade Montois in Mont-de-Marsan hosted the second edition of the Fiber Trophies. Organized by the Syndicat Départemental d'Equipement des Communes des Landes (SYDEC) in partnership with the operator Altitude Infra, this event brought together nearly 70 local stakeholders committed to highlighting the pioneering initiatives supporting the digital transition of the department.

Fiber, a territorial success
Thanks to collective mobilization, more than 217,000 fiber sockets have been installed in Landes, including 118,000 by Altitude Infra. The department stands out with a fiber penetration rate of 51% and a remarkably low connection failure rate of 4%. These results illustrate the success of the deployment and the commitment to making digital a driver of development and social inclusion.

The 2024 winners: exemplary initiatives rewarded
The ceremony highlighted five categories, promoting contributions to digital dynamics:

  • Communal dynamism : Six municipalities (Bascons, Saint-André de Seignanx, Aubagnan, Garrey, Clermont, and Ozourt) were rewarded for their remarkable initiatives in the adoption of fiber.
  • Construction : Altitude Infra Construction and the SYDEC field teams have been praised for their effective collaboration in setting up the PIXL network over the last four years.
  • Support for deployment : The Pays d'Orthe & Arrigans community of communes was distinguished for its exemplary coordination with SYDEC and PIXL.
  • Seniors and digital : Nadège Lalanne, digital advisor for the Community of Communes of Terres de Chalosse, was honored for her work supporting seniors, facilitating their mastery of digital tools.
  • Digital inclusion : The & Services association, represented by Cyrielle Couralet, received an award for its digital mediation program intended for precarious populations, facilitating their access to administrative procedures and employment.

Issues and challenges discussed
The day concluded with a round table bringing together Arnaud Van Troeyen, Managing Director of Altitude Infra, Laurent Civel, Managing Director of SYDEC, and Xavier Terraube, Director of Cuivre programs. The discussions focused on the challenges linked to the shutdown of the copper network and the transition to fiber. Emphasis was placed on the importance of raising citizen awareness and strengthening cooperation between local authorities.

“A necessary transition to energize the territories”
Arnaud Van Troeyen closed the meeting by emphasizing: “The transition to fiber is a major opportunity to energize the territories and guarantee the digital inclusion of all Landais. » A strong message which reflects the future prospects of digital technology in the Landes.
