Guadeloupe comes in 6th position among the most sought-after holiday destinations for Christmas 2024. Just behind we find Martinique, in 7th position. Reunion is also part of this top 10 compiled by the travel comparator Kayak France.
One thing is certain, the French are looking for warmth for the 2024 end-of-year holidays. According to the Kayak.com comparator, de Saint-Denis to Montreal via Dakar, and overseas, the French have set their sights on destinations all over the world but rather on the side of territories where temperatures are around 30 degrees.
Bangkok comes in at the top of searches, followed by New York and London, each located on a different continent. Other destinations like Marrakech, Pointe-à-Pitre and Fort-de-France offer a sense of adventure while remaining French-speaking. Santa's house is even on the list.
The Kayak comparator also gives some reservation advice. Last minute bookings are on the rise but when it comes to a booking outside Europe, booking two months in advance generally allows a saving of 5% on ticket prices.
If you are flying on New Year's Eve to destinations outside Europe, within Europe or France, you can save on average 39%, 21% and 16% respectively. According to the platform, if you don't like crowds, avoid taking an international flight on December 21. December 23 and 26 are likely to be popular dates for domestic flights and to other countries in Europe, respectively.
You can save 18% to 28% on average when returning from Europe or another country on December 26. For domestic flights, returning on New Year's Day can save you an average of 12%.
