An inanimate body was found around noon Saturday along the river, in the Bic sector of Rimouski.
It is that of Mario Pelletier, originally from Rivière-du-Loup, confirms the Sûreté du Québec.
The 58-year-old man had been missing for several days.
A forensic identification technician and an investigator went to the site to conduct an investigation. A security perimeter was established on site during their intervention.
