A mobilization against the extreme right, a few days of the first round of early legislative elections which will take place on June 30 and July 7, 2024.
300 in Quimperlé
Nearly 300 people gathered at 11 a.m. this Saturday, Place Jean-Moulin in Quimperlé, at the call of several trade union organizations including the CGT, Sud, Unsa and the Communist Party. All there to make their rejection of “hate and the extreme right” heard. The CFDT of the country of Quimperlé had for its part called for demonstrations in Quimper or Lorient. “It’s regrettable. We were able to come together for retirement. When it comes to defending democracy in our constituency, this is not the case,” tance Laurent Nicolas, from the local CGT union.
2,600 in Quimper
In Quimper, the appeal bore fruit. Against the far right, poverty… The procession set off from Place de la Résistance at 11:30 a.m. In the crowd, families, young people, retirees. Several left-wing local elected officials (at the town hall, in the Department, in the Region) too. 2,600 people in total according to our counts.

In Landerneau, around a hundred people then marched peacefully after speaking in front of the town hall, from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
4,000 in Brest
It was in Brest that the largest mobilization was recorded. At the start of the afternoon, around 4,000 demonstrators left Place de la Liberté before heading up Rue Jean-Jaurès. In total, six unions came together to organize this movement “for social progress, against hatred and the extreme right”, explained the inter-union at the start of the procession.
More than 1000 in Morlaix
Finally, in Morlaix, it was already the third mobilization of this type. More than 1,000 people responded to the call to demonstrate. As in Quimper and Brest, young people, still minors, decided to speak out.
