And three! After devoting two exhibitions to the environment following competitions launched among amateurs and image enthusiasts in 2020 and 2022, the DUF tourism commission wanted to renew the experience with a theme that seemed obvious on the occasion of the Olympics of Paris, what’s more, in an area labeled “Terre de jeux”. And what could be better than commissioning an association of local photographers (AtoutPhoto) to exhibit photos revealing the diversity of the sporting world? “We wanted to show local sport in all its diversity, adults, children, disabled people, have authorization from sports clubs, and the work began in the fall of 2023, which made it possible to cover part of of the sports season,” explains Grégory Cutaïa, responsible for tourism development in the District.

This time, the DUF has invested in durable equipment, with wooden supports designed by a carpenter in the sector which could be useful for future events. Around sixty panels were installed on a 4 km route around the Faulquemont-Pontpierre golf course.

“Capturing emotions”

The interest of this exhibition is to be able to integrate clubs from small and medium-sized communities. “The principle is to include everyone, we worked with educational establishments (the Verlaine college, the inter-company professional high school of Boulay-Faulquemont, the National Engineering School of Metz) both to create metal structures , make drawings and prints in 3 D”. In other words, seek to highlight the site, but also involve local artisans.

“The objective is to show that there is a certain dynamic linking nature, the local public, the quality of the sports and tourist golf complex,” observes Grégory Cutaia. A good fifty sports are represented, from French boxing to rugby, including handball, skateboarding and the new Olympic discipline of BMX…” And all summer, activities will be offered, whether either visits for young people, conferences on sport, meetings with photographers. A great idea for walks and discoveries which aims to “capture actions and emotions”.
