Ride for free on Saturday evenings
From mid-June to mid-August, enjoy BIXI for free every Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Yes, you read correctly, it’s completely free! Thanks to a partnership with Loto-Québec, you can cycle free of charge during these specific hours.
How it works?
It’s super simple! All you have to do is open the app BIXI and find the “Loto-Québec one-way ticket”. This ticket allows you to bypass the usual unlocking fees. With this ticket, you can take a 30-minute ride on a regular BIXI or 15 minutes on a Electric BIXI. However, remember that you still need to post a $100 deposit.
Beyond free time
Once your free time is up, normal rates apply: 20 cents per minute for a regular BIXI and 35 cents per minute for a BIXI electric. It remains an affordable and fun way to get around the city.
Why this initiative?
This program is made possible thanks to Loto-Québec, which wishes to facilitate citizen participation in the events and festivals it sponsors. Among these events, we find the Francos of Montreal, the Montreal International Jazz Festival, the Nuits d’Afrique Festival, the Montreal Pride Festival, Osheaga, Lasso Montreal and the Montreal Complètement Cirque Festival.
