“The man in blue”, who had attracted attention for decades in and the surrounding area, in riding a bike, dressed in unchanging overallssuccumbed to his injuries, following an accident for which the Haute- gendarmes are calling for witnesses. This 74-year-old man was hit by a car on departmental road 979 in Eyjeaux, between 6:15 p.m. and 6:25 p.m. this Friday evening. The accident occurred between the place called Les Chabannes, at the exit of Feytiat, and the Chabannes farm, in Eyjeaux.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the cyclist was hit from behind by a car whose driver did not stop. Anyone who thinks they have useful information regarding this accident is invited to call the Solignac gendarmerie brigade, responsible for the investigation, at 05.55.00.50.03. Calls to 17 will also be transferred to investigators. Criminal identification technicians carried out on-site surveys to try to determine the type and color of the car, based on the debris found at the scene of the accident.

A true urban legend, often seen but not necessarily known to Limougeauds and residents of the urban area, “the man in blue” was actually called Jean-Marc. He lived in Aureil and tirelessly traveled the roads of Haute-Vienne by bike.
