Disneyland Paris Christmas parade becomes ticketed, fans angry

The best seats to attend the iconic Disneyland Christmas parade are now paying a fee. Visitors will be able to pay 21 euros per day and 24 euros per person in the evening to see the show from the central hub.

The magic of Christmas has a bitter taste for Mickey. Like every year for its winter season, the Disneyland Paris park offers a special parade of its flagship characters. On the program: large floats, festive costumes or even sparkling lights… now priced at 21 euros per person minimum for those who want the best view.

Previously, to discover the spectacle, the most daring visitors stood at the edge of the route several tens of minutes or even an hour before the start of the parade. A tradition which is now part of the past: Disneyland Paris has decided to create a “reserved zone” and for a fee around two stages in front of the castle, the best seats to attend “Mickey and his sparkling Christmas parade”.

If outside of these areas visitors can still see the parade, places with breathtaking views are now at a high price and inaccessible for free.

Thus, spectators who do not want to wait and prefer to optimize their time in the park will be able to pay a minimum of 21 euros for 20 minutes of show during the day. All you have to do is arrive at Central Plaza at the start of the parade.

In the evening, the price increases for the night parade, and reservations start at 24 euros.

“Worse and worse”

For Disneyland Paris fans, the “magic of Disney” is once again eaten away by ever more incredible prices. After the increase over the years of annual passes, day entry tickets or even parking and skip-the-line access, touching the parades seems completely ludicrous for park regulars.

“Shameful! It’s really Scrooge’s park!” denounces Carine on Facebook. “We pay to breathe when we go there. Worse and worse,” adds Astrid.

“More and more contempt for their customers… I was a fan from the start, but I did an annual pass for a year and I saw the services deteriorate,” saddens a Tiktok user. “We are still losing a little magic at Disney,” concludes Kristel sr the same network.

“Very happy to stop my (annual, Editor’s note) pass”, finally assures Caroline. In fact, the annual pass does not offer any advantages with regard to this new option.

According to some Internet users, despite the controversy, the places at the central hub are already full for several days. Margaux notes, for example, “big problems”. When she wanted to book, she realized that everything was full “for two weeks”.

It now remains to be seen whether this new feature will be limited to Christmas shows, or whether it will subsequently be implemented for the parades planned throughout the rest of the year.
