The Sorèze Book Fair returns for a third edition! Neararound thirty authors, publishers, booksellers, artisans and other book professionals will participate in the event organized this Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 November 2024 in the heart of this Tarn town on the Haute-Garonne border. Thus offering young and old alike the opportunity to discover the different professions and know-how inherent in this environment. And this, in a setting that is exceptional to say the least: that of the abbey school of Sorèze.

The historic monument will once again open its doors to the association Eyebrow In-initiator of this young cultural event, so that she can take over the different spaces. The Hall of the Illustrious, the chapel, etc. will be filled with works of all kinds and animated by different activities in which the public can take part.

A third edition on the theme of wind

The theme of this third Book Fair? The wind. A subject that the various guests present this year will discuss with the public. Starting with the guest of honor, Olivier Le Carrer. “Navigator and journalist, he will host a conference, “Navigating the paths of the wind”, accompanied by a dedication on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m.,” says the organizing association.

Earlier today, at 11 a.m., Pierre Jarrige will present to the public a conference projection on Black Mountain Gliding. The meteorologist Sébastien Laflorencie will transmit his knowledge on the wind of Autanthis “wind that drives you crazy”, well known to the inhabitants of Lauragais, the day before at 3 p.m.

Workshops, exhibition of remarkable books and of art bindingsmeetings with authors and signings, demonstration of know-how craftsmen and book artists, sales of old and newer books will complete the weekend program. Children will not be left out either since children’s album readings are scheduled for Saturday at 3:30 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m.

A presentation of the Literary Prize will also take place on Saturday, at 2:30 p.m. It will be followed, at 4:30 p.m., by the presentation of the Lauragais School Prize.
