It’s almost the end for Arcane. Although season 2 will be the conclusion of the series, other projects in the League of Legends universe are reportedly in preparation. And precisely, after Piltover and Zaun, which region will be in the spotlight and which champions will be put in the spotlight? We tell you everything we know at the moment.
Arcane will not have a season 3. Indeed, the excellent series adapting the universe of League of Legends will reach its conclusion in this season 2. Following the events of season 1 recounting the uprising of the people of Zaun against Piltover as well as the final confrontation between VI and Jinx, the latter becoming a revolutionary symbol.

No sequel to Arcane but…
Last August, Riot and Christian Linke, co-creator of the series, confirmed that a third season would not see the light of day. However, the company immediately announced that it was already working on new multimedia projects by creating new studios. One of them will be led by Christian Linke for animation while another will be managed by Brian Wright, who would run a studio focused on making live action projects such as films or series. And then? If Arcane features the city of Piltover and Zaun as well as well-known characters from the Runeterra universe such as Caitlyn, Ekko and Heimerdinger, we can then wonder what will be the next places and characters put on the front of the screen.
Who will be next?
The world of Runeterra is made up of several different regions such as Piltover and Zaun, locations seen in the Aracane series, as well as places such as Ionia, Bandle, or Noxus. Besides, speaking of the latter, there is a possibility that it will be the next region exploited in series or film. A military power with expansionist objectives, the said nation was introduced in season 1 and will play an important role in the final season of Arcade. Besides, this introduction is via the character of Ambressa, Noxian warlord and mother of Mel Medarda’s character. Note that the character was recently added as a champion in League of Legends.
While Noxus may sound like an easy choice given that the region is mentioned in Arcane and will play an important role there, it would also be an opportunity to highlight Noxian champions like Darius, Swain, Katarina or even Leblanc. And talk about much more political themes and about his military campaign.
Towards a more fanciful series?
So of course, all the other regions and champions also have their chance as there are so many possibilities for stories to tell. And the showrunner of Arcane knows this perfectly. Christian Linke told Comicbook that he wanted to explore the League of Legends universe more than extend Arcane. He explains that he would like to exploit the “fantastic” side of the universe. Comicbook article with ITW
We want to tell more stories in different regions, for different characters. And these will be very, very different from each other. Some of them will be more fantastical, some of them will be more serious and dark. Arcane is just the first step in a much larger dream of telling a story. -Christian Linke
Although Linke does not confirm anything, we can still imagine that he was perhaps talking about Bandle, country of the Yordles where we can find several representatives known in the game like Teemo, Tristana, Lulu. And even, the description can correspond to other regions like Heimerdinger, present in the Arcane series. If Bandle would be ideal because it is a magical place worthy of a fairy tale, it must be remembered that these are simple assumptions, the scriptwriter being able to refer to other regions or none in particular.
We will have to be patient
In any case, the League Of Legends universe will not stop developing and offering us new animated projects. We imagine that we will find both original stories and adaptations of the history of champions or already known intrigues such as the mage uprising in Demacia, the Noxian invasion conflict on Ionia or the fall of the Shurima empire. All this to say that we will have to be patient to find out what Riot is preparing. Moreover, note that the excellent French animation studio Fortiche should collaborate for a long time with the publisher of LoL. For example, we remember that they recently made the Blood Sweat & Tears video about the character Ambressa, sung by her voice actress Sheryl Lee Ralph.
As a reminder, season 2 of Arcane will be divided into 3 acts of 9 episodes. The first act should be available on Netflix at the time these lines are published with 3 episodes, the second, on November 16, with episodes 4 to 6, and the final act of the series on November 23 with the 3 episodes finals.
