At 4 p.m., OpéraBulles will present its latest show, “Brindisi”. This “theatrical and musical experience” returns to La Traviata, by Verdi. “It is the most performed opera in the world, there is not a day when it is not performed,” assures the troupe. “Cyrille Serio, our director, and Orane François, his co-author, tell the story of La Traviata, the three main roles, and its composer. Through these three characters, they evoke the genesis of this opera, how Verdi created him, under what circumstances, what his life was like at that time, the society he lived in, etc.”

For this show, nine singers will take the stage, accompanied by pianist Elena Surina, for a one and a half hour performance.

“We handle humor, casualness and celebration”

OpéraBulles was created in 2010, in , in Champagne. It owes its name to its region of origin, “we associated the opera with the sparkling bubbles of Champagne”, a nod to the latter. “We also owe our name because we handle humor, casualness and celebration, which we find in OpéraBulles.”

The initial idea, led by Cyril Serio, the founder and tenor of the troupe, was to share “his love of opera and to as many people as possible”. “Because opera is a somewhat elitist world, he wanted to share his way of experiencing it.” Italian, of Sicilian origin, Cyril Serio has always known opera.

So, the tenor decided to create his own troupe. One of the missions of OpéraBulles: “to recreate opera as it was originally, namely sung theater. So it started from there, to show everyone that opera is heard every day. days, on the radio, in advertisements.”

“It makes me think”, was the very first show carried by the troupe. “He toured in France and abroad until 2015. There was a reshuffle of the troupe, then in 2019, we created a second show called “Five Centuries of Music”. It was in April that their last show, “Brindisi”, saw the light of day, finally winning the Gers on November 17.
