At the beginning of June, a dog which had been stolen in February in Val-d’Oise was found by the Animal Protection Brigade and the police in Leboncoin. One person was arrested.

“Do not lose hope”. On Facebook, the Animal Protection Brigade (BPA), an association made up of volunteer police officers and gendarmes, tells how it helped a woman find her dog Noah, a spitz, who had been stolen in Bezons, in Val-d ‘Oise, four months ago.

“Noah was stolen during a burglary last February,” reports the BPA. After “months of research, fear, incomprehension, disappointment but also hope”, “Noah found himself on Leboncoin”, writes the association.

A person arrested

The BPA transmitted this information to the Argenteuil police station, in Val-d’Oise. The police arrested the person who was offering the dog for sale on June 6, she also said on Facebook.

The reunion between Noah and his mistress Corinne “took place at the police station and was filled with emotion,” says the association. If your pet is stolen, she recommends filing a complaint as quickly as possible, reporting the theft to I-Cad, the domestic animal database, and contacting the BPA.

“At the same time, go through the classified ads, display and distribute your photo and characteristics (in the street, shopkeepers, social networks), notify nearby veterinarians and pounds,” recommends the association. In 2023, 576 animals were reported stolen in France, down 15% compared to 2022, according to the I-Cad.
