Storm Caetano passed through the country, but this Friday early evening, 5,000 homes are still without electricity in Limousin. According to manager Enedis, 3,000 homes are affected in Creuse, 1,500 in Haute- and 500 in Corrèze.

The violent winds caused significant damage, such as here in the town of Dun-le-Palestel where two open buildings suffered from the gusts.

Many trees and utility poles fell on roads in the region. More than 200 Enedis agents are hard at work restoring power to homes. They were to receive help from around sixty reinforcements this Friday afternoon.

Some residents tolerate the situation philosophically, as in the north of Haute-Vienne, where Bernard Hilaire and his wife Annette spent the night without electricity: “The evening passed peacefully, no television and especially no heating . Since everything is electric… We lit up with candles, like in the old days.

As everything is electric… We lit with candles, like in the old days. At 85, it's embarrassing, especially if it lasts like this for another two or three days.”worries this octogenarian who lives in Jouac.

80% of cut-off homes should be replenished by Saturday evening, according to the group.

As announced by Météo France on Wednesday, a few snowflakes fell on the Creuse during the night from Thursday to Friday. “The quantity is small. The thin film we have this morning will disappear quickly”warns Guy Mollé, forecaster at Météo France Nouvelle-Aquitaine. In the northern regions of France and in Paris, snowfall was more pronounced.

“The weekend will be pleasant”assures Guy Mollé. In Limousin, the weather will be dry, without precipitation and the south wind will raise the thermometers. Saturday morning, the minimums will be between -5°C and 1°C. In the afternoon, it will be between 10 and 14°C.

The weather will be dry this Friday with clearings in the morning. It will be sunny in the afternoon, so there is little risk of frost on Saturday morning, except for places that remain damp.
