Since April 2018, the Ô33 has been housed in the Avenches Town Hall. But despite the success of its cuisine, which earned it a score of 16 in the 2024 edition of Gault&Millau, the two managers of the restaurant, Jeoffrey Fraiche and Helena Collaud, decided to terminate the lease at the end of July.

Why abandon this establishment which has been propelled onto the gastronomic scene in Switzerland in just a few years? “It’s complicated to maintain such a kitchen in Broye,” admits Helena Collaud, the manager. “We have a good clientele, and people also come from elsewhere, but it’s not enough.”

The manager emphasizes that the situation is complicated for all restaurateurs at the moment. “If we hoped to maintain the restaurant, perhaps we should have offered a double menu with different prices, but that was not what we wanted. We like gourmet cuisine,” explains the manager.

The adventure of Jeoffrey Fraiche and Helena Collaud will not stop in Avenches. They are already planning to open a new establishment next year, probably in the Vaud Riviera, but without any confirmation at the moment.

The two restaurateurs had initially planned to leave the establishment at the end of December, but the city apparently had an offer from a buyer for the end of the summer. Nothing having been signed yet, she has not yet decided on who will be the next manager of the City Hall restaurant.
