Rumors spoke of a shooting. At the end of the afternoon, this Thursday, June 13, many Internet users were concerned about the significant slowdowns in traffic on the A16 motorway, in the direction of Paris towards Beauvais. Particularly at the Amblainville toll (Oise), where only two lanes out of five remained open, causing a traffic jam for several kilometers, with cars leaving in trickles.
The presence of the gendarmerie, firefighters but above all criminal identification did not go unnoticed. “There is a car riddled with bullets and dozens and dozens of police,” assured a motorist on the networks.
“Superficial wounds”
According to our sources, it was in fact a chase which began in Val-d’Oise and which ended at the Oisian toll gate with shots from the gendarmes, in order to immobilize the vehicle. Information confirmed by the Beauvais prosecutor, Frédéric Trinh.
“It is indeed a refusal to comply which begins in Val-d’Oise and ends in the south of our department, at this toll,” supports the magistrate. The vehicle had been chased by the Val-d’Oise gendarmerie motorway platoon. The soldiers fired well and the driver was slightly injured by shards of glass, superficial injuries. »
At the start of the evening, the police were still on site. A few meters from the toll gate, two criminal identification police officers were taking photos of a stopped gray car. Ten meters away a fire brigade vehicle was parked while, further away, around twenty gendarmes from Oise and Val-d’Oise were carrying out several interrogations.
For the moment, the prosecutor is not providing more information on the identity of the driver or the reasons which led the police to fire. “An investigation will be carried out by the Oise gendarmerie into the shootings,” continues Frédéric Trinh. At the same time, our gendarmes are also recovering the procedure for refusal to comply, so as not to create difficulties in this case. »
