A PE teacher from the Jean-Jaurès high school in Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis) was slapped last Tuesday by a student. The latter was wearing an abaya, the reason for this altercation.
A PE teacher from the Jean-Jaurès high school in Montreuil was slapped by a student this Tuesday, November 5 after an altercation over her outfit, BFMTV learned. According to our information, this student wore an abaya, an outfit banned in public schools since September 2023.
The student allegedly explained to the teacher that his outfit was authorized by the CPE (Principal Education Advisor). But the teacher allegedly refused this justification, asking her to change her outfit. The young girl then spat on the latter then insulted her before slapping her.
A complaint filed
Still according to our information, a complaint was filed at the Montreuil police station, the teacher was accompanied during the filing of the complaint by teams from the establishment. The Créteil academy offered functional protection and psychological support to the teacher who is on leave.
The student is the subject of a precautionary measure. She cannot return to high school and will have to wait for the decision of the disciplinary council, which will be convened soon. The deputy academic director is monitoring the situation.
