Haut-Rhin. Man sentenced for violently beating his 93-year-old grandmother

A 58-year-old man was sentenced Monday June 10, 2024 by the Mulhouse court, in Haut-Rhin, for violence against his 93-year-old grandmother, indicates “L’Alsace”. The victim had head injuries and facial bruising when police arrived.

A 50-year-old was sentenced to one year in prison with a two-year probationary suspension for hitting his 93-year-old grandmother several times, reports Alsace . He was sentenced by the Mulhouse court (Haut-Rhin) on Monday June 10, 2024.

He does it again just after the end of his custody

The 58-year-old man was arrested for the first time on June 6, 2024 after a neighbor’s report. The grandmother was found by the police with a bleeding wound on her head and bruises on her face. She reportedly fell after being hit, but refused to file a complaint.

His grandson had been released with a summons to appear in court upon prior admission of guilt. The next day, he attacked his grandmother again.

According to the victim, her grandson used drugs and had debts to pay. “We need to help him heal. He needs to be hospitalized.”, she asked the court. The man was banned from having contact with her.
