Legislative elections 2024: in the 7th constituency of Hérault, which “republican front” facing MP RN Lopez-Liguori?

Comforted, the RN deputy wishes to continue his work. He does not yet know his adversaries.

“This is a major victory for us.” Even if he welcomes the results in his constituency “with humility”Aurélien Lopez-Liguori can puff out his chest three weeks before the legislative election. “In the 7th constituency, the RN would reach 42% of the votes”calculates the deputy, who announces “put in the hands of voters” the trust they had placed in him two years ago.

“We have room for improvement everywhere”

In other words, Lopez-Liguori will be a candidate for re-election, determined to ride the “the navy blue tsunami” which propelled him to the National Assembly in 2022. “We will continue from victory to victory,” he predicted at the time. History proves him right, given the RN scores obtained throughout this constituency, and more particularly in Agde (49.3%) and Sète.

“The French approve of the subjects that we bring, believes the elected official, who does not hesitate to draw parallels with the territory. We are making strong progress everywhere. We are in the lead in all the municipalities in the constituency. It’s very interesting, we have room for improvement everywhere…”

A new Lopez-Liguori/Blasco duel?

A subject of which Gabriel Blasco is aware. Leader of Nupes two years ago, when he reached 40.81% of the votes against Lopez-Liguori, the communist does not want to believe in the fate of June 30. “The results call for a start”brandishes the departmental advisor, who hopes for “a popular citizen reaction” and does not want to resolve “to the politics of the worst”.

Without being, for the moment, a candidate for the 7e constituency, Gabriel Blasco displays the desire to “bring the union of the left to life” in Sète. And to adopt the posture of gathering. “The Sète communists are clearly in a united dynamic on the left, and this from the first round. The priority is not “who”, but it is “all together and around what”. For this we need a clear program, not just an electoral agreement.”

“I am ready to commit with force”

Aware of having taken “a significant part” in the last legislative campaign, Gabriel Blasco appears as a natural candidate to embody the surge of the “republican front” on the 7e. He says, moreover, “ready to engage with force” in view of the June 30 vote.

Euzet leaves the door open for a return

LREM deputy between 2017 and 2022 on the 7e constituency, Christophe Euzet was beaten in the first round of the legislative elections two years ago (third with 19.35% of the vote). The university professor based in Perpignan says today “available” to represent the majority on this new ballot. “If I am called upon, wherever I am, I will always mobilize alongside those who want to vote against what is happening.”

Faced with this “electoral moment of truth”, he intends to block Lopez-Liguori. Two years after his electoral setback, the bitterness is stubborn. “He’s a miniature Bardella, a Playmobil deputy, who wears a suit and tie well. His deafening silence clearly shows that he’s responding to the instructions of his staff. He’s making the flower pot under the flags.”

A “front” against which Lopez-Liguori seems to have, to date, some margin. “If you talk about these parties which support terrorist organizations and which have words which border on anti-Semitism…”sweeps the MP, who sets the scene for this future express campaign.
