A gunshot rings out by accident. A police officer, Ben (Quentin Faure), collapses. And his colleague and lover, Duchess (Déborah Krey), rushes desperately to his side: the last episode of season 3 of The Invisibles clearly called for a sequel, which begins this Monday on France 2. This season also closes the destiny of each of the characters of this small team, which throughout these five years has never been unworthy.
The Invisibles recounts the investigations of a small brigade of the SRPJ in Lille. Their specialty: restoring an identity to corpses left without papers, without cell phones, without a wanted notice. The four investigators, led by Gabriel Darius (Guillaume Cramoisan) have seven days to resolve their cases, before the bodies of the victims are buried in the indigent square, or the common grave.
Seven days flat
Seven days to give a name to these abandoned corpses, and allow their loved ones to mourn. The small brigade, despised by the rest of their colleagues, works in a basement, in the archives. It is made up of strong minds: Darius, haunted by the disappearance of his mother when he was a child, and who seeks to shed light on his origins; Marie-Jo, the eldest of them all (Nathalie Cerda), concentrated in grumpy generosity and honesty, the bubbling Estelle, alias Duchess, from a privileged family, and the one she loves, Ben, who therefore finds himself in a bad posture at the end of season 3. Their mission, which they take very seriously, is “the last resort before oblivion” for the victims in their care.
The brigade gives a short name to each unidentified corpse found. A way for the four acolytes to restore their humanity to the deceased. In this new season of six episodes, they will in turn confront an infiltration of a Narcotics police officer which goes wrong, ultra football circles, domestic violence, and a scammer. Each time, according to the pattern started in the first season, the story follows both the itinerary of the culprit and that of the investigators. The series, humble, is carried by the strength of the destiny of each of its protagonists. We will regret it.
