According to Cheikhna Keita, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko assumes the powers of the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye. Invited before the Sunday jury relayed by IRadio, the former Commissioner and his movement “Save Senegal”, firmly believe that there is indeed a vacuum of power since Sonko has seized the powers of the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye whom the Senegalese elected as head of the country.
“Information to the point of noting that a tacit resignation and the vacancy of power of the President of the Republic Bassirou Diomaye Faye for the benefit of his Prime Minister. This is what we wrote to the constitutional council. Today we are in a special situation. Diomaye is already a problem; it seems that we are facing a president who was chosen haphazardly. It has visible gaps in its movement and purpose. The problem is that when he came to power he was trampled on by his prime minister. It was predictable because the debate was settled. The Prime Minister occupies all spaces of power to the detriment of the President of the Republic. This is the crisis.
We say that it is the President of the Republic who practically refuses to play his role. Because he named people he doesn’t know. The president had openly said so. Our relationship with diplomacy, our foreign policy orientation, our defense policy orientation, we realized that there is someone who has encroached on the fields there and in a deliberate and violent manner to the point of attracting the everyone’s attention.
